Undergraduate Degrees

Applications for under graduate programs start in June. Applications must be made online at http://yos.basvuru.sabis.sakarya.edu.tr/.

Candidates who meet the necessary requirements are evaluated according to the exams applicable and GPA. Based on these two criteria, a list of applicants is formed. Students who are entitled to register will be announced in August.

 

I. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

A) WHO CAN APPLY? (FOR UNDERGRADUATE AND ASSOCIATE DEGREE PROGRAMS)

On the condition that they have graduated or expecting graduation from a high-school;

1) International students (non-Turkish citizens),

2) Those holding Turkish citizenship by birth and renounced their Turkish citizenship from Ministry of Interior (those holding Blue Card)

3) Those who hold citizenship of other countries by birth and have gained the citizenship of the Republic of Turkey / those who hold dual-citizenship,

*4) a) Among those who continue their secondary education abroad before the date 2/1/2013 and who hold the citizenship of the Republic of Turkey, those who have completed their last three years of secondary education in another country, other than Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (including those who have completed their whole secondary education in a Turkish institution under the Ministry of Education of Turkey in another country, other than TRNC),

4b) Those who start their secondary education abroad after the date 2/1/2013 and who have completed their whole high school education in another country, other than TRNC (including those who have completed their whole secondary education in a Turkish institution under the Ministry of Education of Turkey in another country, other than TRNC),

5)Those who hold the citizenship of TRNC, who reside in TRNC and who have completed their secondary education in a GCEAL system, as well as those who have registered and completed their secondary education in a GCEAL system abroad between 2005-2010,

can apply for undergraduate and associate study at Sakarya University.

B) WHO CAN NOT APPLY?

Applicants;

1) Who hold the citizenship of the Republic of Turkey, and have completed their secondary education in Turkey or in TRNC,

2) Who hold the citizenship of TRNC (except for those who have completed their whole secondary education in a GCE AL system in TRNC, and those who have registered and completed/will complete their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010),

*3) Who hold a dual citizenship, one of which is a citizenship of the Republic of Turkey by birth, as stated in article (a) item.2 above (except for those who satisfy the criteria stated in article (a) item 4),

4) Who hold a dual citizenship, one of which is a citizenship of TRNC (except for those who have completed their whole secondary education in a GCE AL system in TRNC, and those who have registered and completed/will complete their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010),

5) Who hold a citizenship of the Republic of Turkey or a dual citizenship, one of which is the a citizenship of the Republic of Turkey by birth, as stated in article a item.2 above, and who have completed their secondary education in institutions within an embassy or in other foreign institutions in Turkey.

can not apply for undergraduate and associate study at Sakarya University.

*: In accordance with the decision taken on stay of execution by the 8th Department of Council of State dated 16.07.2014 at the meeting of the Higher Education General Assembly dated 21.5.2014 regarding candidates who will make applications.

 

II. EXAMS APPLICABLE FOR APPLICATION

ENTRANCE SCORE

The types of examinations to be accepted and baseline scores are stated in Table 1 - 4.

After each applicant candidate’s point is calculated on a score of 100 points, the percentages are calculated according to the exam type of the relevant candidate (Table 1/2/ 3/4) and the Entrance Score is calculated.

III. EVALUATION

When two applicants have the same entrance score;

- Younger one comes first,

- The one who newly graduated from a high school is selected.

When the applicant is placed in one of the programs chosen, the other two choices are not taken into account.

Newly admitted students and those who might have the right for registration at additional placement are announced on the dates specified in academic calendar on www.studyinsau.sakarya.edu.tr

The admitted students who will be registering will get acceptance letters. Applicants can access acceptance letters on the application page.

Newly admitted students should make registration at International Students Office with required documents.

 

IV. QUOTAS

Quotas;

The number of students for Sakarya University Programs are subject to quotas determined by Sakarya University Senate on condition that the quotas will not be higher than 50% of the quotas stated in previous ÖSYS Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guideline.

The evaluation of the applications and the placement of the applicants are made is executed according to Entrance Score on condition that they meet the minimum criteria stated in the provision.

The University Senate decide to open Additional Placement. However, students who register in 1st placement are not eligible to apply for Additional Placement.

Sakarya University has the initiative to decide not to fill the quotas.

 

V. ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS

(1) Students need to fill in the required documents and upload them to the system during online application.

(2) Any application with missing documents or/and information will not be evaluated.

(3) Students who will apply with high school average grade need to upload a document proofing their grades.

(4)For the registration, it is required to submit all the documents uploaded online.

(5) The Online Application is available on SAU website during application dates indicated in academic calendar.

(6)Each applicant is eligible to make only one application, and may select maximum 3 department/program. Applicants who make more than one application are not evaluated.

(7) YÖS Documents of Universities without YÖS Exam Result Verification Site will not be accepted. These applications will not be evaluated.

Online Application

VI. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR REGISTRATION

Registration will be made at Registrar’s Office personally. No other person than the applicant is eligible to make registration.

(1) High School Diploma Original and its certified Turkish translation.

(2) An “Equivalence Letter” from the Ministry of Education of Turkey or from Turkish Embassies which certify that the diploma is equivalent to a Turkish High School Diploma.

(3) Certified Turkish translation of an official transcript of high school courses and grades sealed and approved by Turkish Embassies or Consulates.

(4) Certified “GCE A Level Exam”

In addition, the grades declared by the candidates in the application process must be identical. Otherwise, the registration rights of the related candidates will be canceled.

(5) Applicants who apply and admitted with the SAT results need to direct their results from College Board until the registration, otherwise they will be asked to confirm the results of the exam at the SAT College Board official site with their usernames and passwords during registration. Candidates who are unable to do so will be denied registration rights.

-Confirmation will be made on verification pages of the University that conducted the YÖS Exam for applicants who apply and admitted with YÖS result. If the verification page is not available or active on the registration date, these candidates will be denied registration rights.

(6)Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate (from TÖMER Centers of the universities or Yunus Emre Institutes) documents of the Centers with no Exam Result Verification Pages will not be accepted.

(7) International students are required to hold official residence permit.

*The date of entry to the country will be checked and students who exceed the visa

Exemption time will not be able to register.

*Visa exemption periods are different for each country.

*Students can learn the visa exemption period apply to their countries from

Consulates of the countries, from the internet or the Provincial Migration Administration.

(8) A photocopy of Blue Card for Blue Card holders

(9) Certificate of identity register copy for students who hold dual citizenship (can be requested from Civil Registry)

(10)  6 photos sized 4.5x6cm.

(11) Candidates who are admitted to Nursing and Midwifery Departments of the Faculty of Health Sciences must get a dossier report from a university-approved and/or full-fledged official hospital certifying that they do not have any physical and mental disabilities that will prevent them from carrying out this profession during and after the training.

(12) Bank receipt of the paid semester tuition fee (Tuition fees are paid to the bank in campus just before registration with a number taken from Student Affairs.)
